Journalist Zemo released with condition of house arrest

ANKARA - Journalist Zemo Ağgöz, who was questioned by the police for more than 3 hours, was released on the condition of house arrest by the prosecutor's office.
 
Mezopotamya Agency (MA) reporter Zemo Ağgöz, who has a 45-day-old baby and was detained with a raid on her house on October 25 as part of the Ankara-based investigation, was brought to the Ankara Courthouse after she was questioned by the police for more than 3 hours at the Ankara Police Department.
 
Questioned about the articles shw wrote and who her colleagues were, Zemo was released by the Criminal Court of Peace on the condition of house arrest and judicial control.
 
Zemo, who was welcomed by his family and colleagues at the courthouse, said: “I am happy to be released, but all of our friends are still in there. I hope they will be released soon. We are all journalists, and all our friends held inside are also journalists. We once again stated that journalism is not a crime. We want our friends to be released as soon as possible. Thanks to all of you for your solidarity.”
