ANKARA - Speaking at the protest against the Imrali isolation, HDP Deputy Kemal Bülbül said, “NATO, CPT, European Union, ECHR are parties to this crime. Because there is an international conspiracy and an international system here.”

The vigil, launched by the Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) deputies demanding that PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan meet with his lawyers and family, continued on its 15th day. Deputies Kemal Bülbül, Abdullah Koç, Muazzez Orhan, Sıddık Taş, Hüseyin Kaçmaz, Erdal Aydemir, Murat Çepni, Kemal Peköz, Celadet Gaydalı and Nuran İmir attended the vigil in front of the parliament. Kemal Bülbül spoke on behalf of the deputies here.

'AKP-MHP government commits crimes'

Noting that the AKP and MHP alliance committed crimes against human rights and freedoms, Kemal said, "Isolation is a legal crime, the party to this crime is the AKP-MHP government, but also the prosecutors and the legal institution itself. Apart from that, NATO, CPT, European Union, ECHR are parties to this crime. Because there is an international conspiracy and an international system here. While the EU meticulously monitors the developments regarding human rights and freedoms in Turkey and publishes them on this issue, it has never spoken a word about the system in Imrali. Again pointing out that the CPT did not share its reviews, Kemal mentioned that this situation caused public concern.”

'Isolation in Imrali is reflected as a blow to the Kurds and their institutions'

Stating that the isolation was a political blockade, Kemal added: “The system implemented on the island was not simply a matter of isolating a person and cutting them off from social, political, cultural life and communication with his family and lawyers. This is a political blockade. In this political blockade, it continues as a trustee, as a coup, in isolation against the Kurdish people and its institutions. It continues as a psychological special war against Turkey as a whole, as an isolation and attack against women and youth, as immunity to deputies, as unlawful detention and arrest of our party leaders with the dawn blows.”

'To be against isolation is to defend democracy'

Kemal said, "To be against isolation means to defend democracy, human rights and freedoms, equality and justice," and Abdullah Öcalan's ideas and views, the Middle East, Turkey, the Kurdish people and the peoples of Turkey are equal, free and together. He stressed that he was defending his life. Emphasizing that it cannot be a crime to defend these thoughts, Kemal said, “We also here that a meeting should be held to express this legitimate and democratic right and to defend Mr. we believe. But we are also in isolation here."

'Negotiation should be held for a democratic solution'

Kemal continued his speech as follows: “We are prevented from going to the Ministry of Justice, the front of the Ministry of Justice is blocked with tins. The Ministry of Justice became a tin ministry. Turkey's 3rd largest party's deputies, executives, mass, democratic institutions and organizations, thousands of lawyers, thousands of academics defend social peace, but defending this social peace is reflected as an arrest against Mr. Fincancı and expulsion to academics. Therefore, the isolation system applied on the island is not unique to the island. It is an isolation peculiar to the Middle East, Turkey and Kurdistan. This isolation is a crime, and the trial of this crime will one day be done in front of law, justice and democracy. The isolation must be ended as soon as possible and a meeting with Mr. Öcalan must be held for a democratic and peaceful solution.”
